Works on C. elegans whole mounts. Stains lysosomes. Specific by western blot: the 37 kDa band observed in wild type is absent from the lmp-1 mutant (nr2045). On whole mount immunostaining, most of the wild type staining is lost in the lmp-1 mutant (nr2045) except that the immunostaining of the nervous system remained in the mutant and became more pronounced, suggesting some cross reaction with another LAMP protein (see initial publication).

The LAMP family protein lmp-1 is a homolog of the lysosome associated membrane protein family (LAMPs) and is highly expressed and localized to lysosomal-like granules in the C. elegans intestine which can be detected in wild type animals.
