IHC-plus™ PTGS2 / COX2 / COX-2 Antibody LS-B410

This antiserum is directed against human Cox-2 and is useful in determining its presence in western blotting and ELISA experiments. The antibody does not cross react with Cox-1. Cox-2 is involved in the response of cells to growth factors, tumor promoters, and cytokines that induce its expression. Given its role in synthesizing prostaglandins, Cox-2 is therefore of interest in studying immune response regulation. This antibody can detect Cox-2 in human, mouse and rat. Reactivity of this antibody with Cox-2 from other species is unknown.

COX-2 antibody LS-B410 is an unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody to COX-2 (PTGS2 / COX2) from human. It is reactive with human, mouse and rat. Validated for ELISA, IHC and WB. Tested on 20 paraffin-embedded human tissues. Cited in 2 publications.

Immunohistochemistry: LS-B410 was validated for use in immunohistochemistry on a panel of 21 formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human tissues after heat induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antibody, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen. The stained slides were evaluated by a pathologist to confirm staining specificity. The optimal working concentration for LS-B410 was determined to be 1:500.
