The lyophilized product, though stable for 3 weeks at room temperature, is best stored at -20 degree C. After reconstitution, short term (up to 1 week) store at 2 to 8 degree C. Long term, aliquot and store at -20 degree C. Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles.

The specific activity was determined by the ability of MCP-1 to chemoattract human monocytes using a concentration of 5-20 ng/ml.
