This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of bovine TNF-alpha. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between bovine TNF-alpha and analogues was observed.

Unopened test kits should be stored at 2 to 8 degree C upon receipt. Please refer to pdf manual for further storage instructions.

Samples: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates. Assay Type: Competitive. Detection Range: 0.1 ng/ml -20 ng/ml. Sensitivity: The minimum detectable dose of bovine TNF-alpha is typically less than 0.05 ng/ml. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest bovine TNF-alpha concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean O.D value of 20 replicates of the zero standard added by their three standard deviations.

Intra-assay Precision: Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay): CV%<15%. Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess. Inter-assay Precision: Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays): CV%<15%. Three samples of known concentration were tested in twenty assays to assess.

. Principle of the assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with goat-anti-rabbit antibody. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with an antibody specific for TNF-alpha and Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated TNF-alpha. The competitive inhibition reaction is launched between with HRP labeled TNF-alpha and unlabeled TNF-alpha with the antibody. A substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of TNF-alpha in the sample. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
