Desc1 :

Caspase family of cysteine proteases has been shown to play a key role in apoptosis. Caspase-1 (ICE, interleukin-1b-converting enzyme) is the mammalian caspase responsible for the proteolytic conversion of the proforms of interleukin-1b and IL-18 into active cytokines. Like other caspases, Caspase-1 itself is synthesized as a pro-enzyme that is cleaved during activation into a large (20kD) and small (10kD) subunits. The cellular role of caspase-1 appears limited to cytokine activation as they do not have obvious roles in apoptosis. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunofluorescence: 10-20ug/ml Western Blot: 0.5-4ug/ml Immunoprecipitation: 4-8ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
