Ghrelin is the ligand for growth hormone secretagogue receptor type 1 (GHSR). It induces the release of growth hormone from the pituitary and involved in growth regulation. This protein has an appetite-stimulating effect, induces adiposity and stimulates gastric acid secretion. Ghrelin plays a significant role in neurotrophy, particularly in the hippocampus, and is essential for cognitive adaptation to changing environments and the process of learning. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:8000 Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 2-5ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
