p73, a potential tumor suppressor protein and member of the p53 family which is expressed as several splice variants and acts as cell cycle regulator and inducer of apoptosis, sharing significant sequence homology and over-lapping functional properties with tumor suppressor p53. The abnormal expression of p73 and its various isoforms is linked with a variety of carcinomas including neuroblastoma, breast cancer, lung cancer, ovarian cancer, prostate cancer and renal cell carcinoma, and enhanced expression is apparent during the differentiation of myeloid leukaemic cells. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunoprecipitation and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunoprecipitation: 1-4ug/mg lysate Western Blot: 1:2500-1:10,000, detects a band of ~70kD in COS-1 whole cell lysates. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
